Nice and easy, was able to vacuum and scrub the showers yesterday without a sore muscle in my body. The soreness of Taxol or the numbness and tingling in my hands and feet have not occurred. My left breast still feels numb once in a while and I have not considered applying vitamin E to the scars as I had to the scar on my wrist a few years ago. My bandana is on, the cats are fed their pellets, they both slept on the love seat in the computer room after I vacuumed and brushed all of the cat hair off. That makes me smile, their presence makes me feel that they depend on me.
Sunday mornings, always relaxing, but an extra day to run chores. Food shopping is done on Sunday so that the lunch meat for the daily sandwich at work is fresh. Refrigerator is running empty but we managed a meal last night and listened to tapes and records. Something we normally don't do. But this week after seeing Seal and George Michael on American Idol, I had was listening to them on my car cd player on the way to work inspired by what their music means to me. Seal got me through a time of depression and was the only cd that I listenened to while driving up to group meetings. With George Michael, he's been with me since my days in England and Wham!
I am getting away from my cancer but that's not true, only feel like Samantha did in Sex in the City when she pulled off her wig when she was having a hot flash and several women in the audience pulled off theirs. No hot flashed for me but it does get uncomfortable warm under my wig sometimes. I get home and yank it off and place it on the lampshade of a lamp I don't use, one that 2 fawns that sat on my Mom's desk in her bedroom at grandma's house when she studied. One fawn's ear is chipped and the piece needs to be glued back on. Imagine, I have kept this lamp for years and still have that unglued ear with it. It is special to me as I remember looking at it when I was a toddler, in the days of Bambi.
Breakfast.....eggs and waffles and tea, coming up. I'll be back

Blog day one, journaling online
Here I am at my first blog entry but there will be flash backs as my journey began not too long ago, in September 2007 as my Mom was losing her battle and I got a call back for more mammograms of my left breast.
I had followed her treatment for six years and now it was my turn. At least the yearly mammogram caught the tumor early saving me from a mastectomy. It was the size of an M&M (as I found it a good reference to describe the size of the tumor to my fave candy treat) and was known in scientific terms as infiltrating ductal carcinoma.
It was tagged and removed in January 2008 along with several clean lymph nodes in under arm area. BUT during surgery, my breast surgeon found a node under the tumor that was cancerous. She removed it and I was told that radiation would be postponed and chemo was next.
Woohoo...hair loss and feeling yucky were inevitable side effects but there was no way to know if I would get infections, fevers, or other scary symptoms. Luckily my WBC counts have remained good, I have not caught any colds and continue my full time work load and commute with unpaid days for chemo and there are less yucky days as Taxol is given weekly.
I continue to search the web, read blogs of courageous cancer survivors, watch chemo treatments posted by folks on uTube. That has helped tremendously. My fears and online searches for answers to many questions have helped me cope.
Chemo brain and feeling tired is the way I'm feeling today as I had chemo number 7? ACT was my regimen, AC for 4 treatments, then 12 treatments of T weekly so I'm looking to finish at the end of July. I have a port that aches now and then.
Have to go feed the cats, get an update on the Yankees as Johnny is watching the game now. Need to drink some more juice. Hydration is key, rest is vital. More blogging to come.
